What the exam asks
The BACB publishes how many scored questions each content area gets. Behavior Tech Drill weights every mock exam the same way, and every practice question is tied to one of the 43 tasks in the RBT Test Content Outline (3rd ed.), which the exam has followed since January 1, 2026.
- A. Data Collection and Graphing 13 scored questions
- B. Behavior Assessment 8 scored questions
- C. Behavior Acquisition 19 scored questions
- D. Behavior Reduction 14 scored questions
- E. Documentation and Reporting 10 scored questions
- F. Ethics 11 scored questions

Made for this exam, not any exam
A map of the 43 tasks
The home screen is the outline itself: six content areas, 43 tasks, each coloured by how well you know it. Today's practice comes from your weakest task, not from a random pile.
Graphs you can see
Trend, level, variability and phase changes are asked on graphs the app draws on the screen, with the data behind them. Not a question about a picture that is missing.
Calculations you do
Rate, percentage, mean duration and interresponse time, typed in as numbers from the data you are shown. The explanation walks through the arithmetic.
Mock exams like the exam
85 questions in 90 minutes, 10 of them unscored, weighted exactly like the outline. Four numbered exams that never share a question, new random exams, answers hidden until the end, and a clock that stops when you close the app.
The competency checklist
The tasks of the Initial Competency Assessment and the Recertification Competency Assessment, as a list you tick off: studied, rehearsed, shown to your assessor. A supervisor name and date are optional and stay on your iPhone.
A plan if you do not pass
Your score report lists the tasks you missed. Mark them and get a 7 or 14 day plan. You can retake after 7 days, up to 8 attempts in 12 months, and each attempt costs $45 again.
Sources on every answer
Each explanation names the task item and the BACB document it was written from, with the date we last compared it. If something looks wrong, one tap reports it with the question's number.

Questions
Is Behavior Tech Drill from the BACB?
No. Behavior Tech Drill is an independent study app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. RBT® is a registered certification mark of the BACB, used here only to name the exam.
Are these the questions on the exam?
No. We write our own questions from the public BACB documents, and we never copy exam items, practice exams or other apps. Practice results do not promise a pass.
Which outline does the app follow?
The RBT Test Content Outline (3rd ed.). The exam has been based on it since January 1, 2026; the 2nd edition task list is retired.
Can I take the exam in Spanish?
No. The RBT Handbook says the exam is offered in English only, and translators are not allowed at the test centre. Behavior Tech Drill is in English for that reason.
Does the app count toward the 40-hour training or the competency assessment?
No. Those are separate BACB requirements with their own rules. The app helps you study for the exam and keep track of what you have practised.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No. Everything is in the app and your progress stays on your iPhone. We do not collect any data. See the privacy policy.
